For this Virginia stables remodel, we took cues from Greek revival mansions of the American South, adding features like circular windows in each pediment and columns to support the wide entryway porticos. Inside, light streams through skylights in the new ribbed barrel-vaulted ceilings, lending natural illumination to the central corridor below. Twenty custom stalls were constructed with new flooring that supports horses’ steps, providing comfort to the equine denizens who call this magnificent stables home.
