On a rocky, secluded shore overlooking the Hecate Strait, this 4,000-square-foot Victorian-style lodge involved monumental coordination and intense work from the entire B&D family of brands. Everything was crafted at our headquarters in Paradise, Pennsylvania, and then traveled across the country and to British Columbia by truck, with barges necessary for the last leg of the journey. This visitor center features Douglas fir timber frames, cedar Skirl and board-and-batten siding, reclaimed chestnut white oak flooring, and hand-forged hardware. A custom spiral staircase winds its way behind a river stone chimney to the loft above for meetings in a more private space. Myriad other one-of-a-kind touches fill the open, light-filled rooms.
